Saturday night was rough for Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert. In addition to his team going down 3-0 following a 102-91 loss to the Warriors, Gobert was specifically targeted by Golden State and Kevin Durant in the pick-and-roll. The strategy proved to be the difference in the game, with Durant scoring 17 of his 38 points attacking the Defensive Player of the Year candidate.
Interestingly, Gobert was one of the many initial critics of the Durant to Warriors move this summer, and tweeted about it at the time, only for it to be suspiciously deleted after Saturday’s game.
Gobert claimed he deleted that tweet long ago on Sunday, in a tweet that has also been subsequently deleted.
Regardless of when he did it, Gobert clearly no longer believes that Golden State is going to have a hard time integrating Durant, and Saturday night was a prime example of that at his expense.
