Warriors holding Kevin Durant out for Game 3

For Game 3 in Portland against the Trail Blazers, the Warriors will be without their coach and arguably their top player.

The Warriors won Game 2 by 29 points without Kevin Durant. They also went on a 13-game winning streak in March when Durant was sidelined 19 games with a left knee sprain.

Durant practiced on Friday, which makes this news a little surprising. Patrick McCaw is expected to play more minutes just as he did in Game 2. Shaun Livingston and Matt Barnes will also miss Saturday’s game in Portland.

If Durant plays in Game 4, it will have given him eight days of rest. That should be enough to get over his left calf strain.
