Warriors head coach Steve Kerr will not be on the sideline for Game 3 of the Warriors-Blazers series Saturday night due to illness, the team announced three hours before tip-off.
Kerr will stay behind at the team hotel and lead assistant coach Mike Brown will serve as acting head coach according to the team. This will be the first game Kerr has missed this season, after sitting out 43 games last season as he recovered from multiple back surgeries.
Kerr missed shoot around Saturday morning for just the second time this season.
Brown has coached in 83 playoff games throughout his career, during his time as the head coach of the Cavaliers and Lakers.
Mike Brown has coached 83 playoff games before — 71 with LeBron’s Cavs, 12 with Kobe’s Lakers. He’s 47-36.
