NBC Sports Bay Area’s Alex Pavlovic is reporting the Giants are putting Buster Posey on the 7-day Disabled List with concussion symptoms. The Giants later confirmed the news.
Hearing Giants are likely to put Posey on DL. They don't want to take any risks.

Posey, of course, was struck in the head by a 94 MPH fastball Monday during the home opener at AT&T Park. The scary scene marred what was otherwise a solid 4-1 win for the Giants over the Diamondbacks.
Nick Hundley is expected to take over the starting catching duties. Pavlovic is reporting the Giants have promoted Tim Federowicz from the minors; Clayton Blackburn has been designated for assignment. Posey has played at least 146 games in every season since 2011, when he broke his leg and suffered torn ankle ligaments in a collision at home plate.
