After starting the 2017 off with a bang by hitting the Giants’ first home run of the season in the second inning of Sunday’s opener against the Diamondbacks, Madison Bumgarner became the first pitcher ever to go yard twice on opening day.
Bumgarner’s second blast come off of Jorge De La Rosa in the top of the seventh inning, giving the Giants a 4-3 lead after the Diamondbacks tied the game in the bottom of the sixth.
