The 49ers’ free agency frenzy is well underway, with reports indicating that San Francisco has already added Pierre Garcon.
According to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, San Francisco is also showing interest in Cincinnati Bengals veteran defensive tackle Domata Peko.
Peko as spent all 11 years of his NFL career with the Bengals. The 49ers added free agent Earl Mitchell before the start of free agency after Mitchell was released by the Miami Dolphins. Peko would presumably add depth to the 49ers defensive line at a decent cost as he started all 16 games last season in Cincinnati.
However, it appears that the 49ers will have competition for Peko’s services. Tomasson states in his report that the Bengals are interested in retaining their nose tackle and that Peko is also drawing interest from the Vikings and Eagles, in addition to the 49ers.
