NEW ORLEANS – If this play looks familiar, it’s because you used to watch it constantly when Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook wore the same jersey in Oklahoma City.
Now, one sweet give-and-go pass leading to a nice dunk on the part of Westbrook against five “defenders” standing around watching doesn’t necessarily squash the beef that stole this year’s NBA All-Star Game headlines. But, in a game that commands a fraction of the attention a midseason Warriors-Cavs contest does, it was nice that we only had to wait about halfway through the first quarter for some kind of drama involving the two squabbling superstars.
