The Warriors lost to the Kings on Saturday night and several notable things happened in the game:
A) Draymond Green suffered a scary knee contusion, but luckily returned to the floor in the second half.
B) Steve Kerr was ejected in one of the most angry tirades of his career.
C) Steph Curry missed a game-winning layup, highlighting another late game situation where the Warriors came up short.
But hours after the game on Twitter, a video surfaced of Green and Kevin Durant having some words for each other on the sidelines (video seen below). Durant scored just 10 points on 2/10 shooting and looked passive throughout the course of the game — a rarity for the MVP candidate.
My opinion: Confrontation is healthy for the Warriors as long as its happening in small doses. Green will seek out confrontation if he feels like something is not going right for Golden State. KD may be a little upset with Draymond for a day or two, but ultimately letting these true feelings air out now is not a bad thing for the Warriors.
Green reportedly recruited Durant harder than any other member of the organization. The two are very close friends. But remember, Green also did have some words for Durant after a January home loss to Memphis. It’s rare a teammate has ever been critical of Durant in such a public fashion — twice.
Don’t read too much into this, but it’s definitely a little detail from Saturday night that will be addressed in the coming days.
