Stephen Curry will miss his first game of the 2016-17 season, sitting out Sunday’s clash against the Portland Trail Blazers with a bout of the stomach flu the team announced Sunday afternoon.
Injury update: Stephen Curry (stomach flu) is OUT for tonight’s game at Portland. David West (left thumb) is also OUT.

With Curry’s absence, Kevin Durant will be the only Warrior to appear in all of the team’s first 48 games. Shaun Livingston will likely start in Curry’s place, with reserve guards Ian Clark and Patrick McCaw both expected to get an extended run off the bench.
Curry was listed as questionable with quad soreness for Saturday’s game vs. the Clippers, but ended up playing and having arguably his best performance of the season. Curry scored 43 points in three quarters, including a 25-point third quarter, in a 144-98 rout of their division rivals. Curry went 9-of-15 from downtown, including sinking an incredible half-court shot at the halftime buzzer.
