Draymond Green and Klay Thompson will join their teammates Kevin Durant, Steph Curry and the entire coaching staff in New Orleans for the 2016 NBA All-Star game.
On the season Thompson is averaging 21.1 points per game but he is shooting a career low 39.6 from behind the three-point line. His most memorable moment thus far this season was dropping 60 points in 29 minutes on the Indiana Pacers on Dec. 5. This is Thompson’s third All-Star appearance.
Mr. Everything for the Warriors, Green is averaging 10.7 points, 8.6 rebounds and 7.5 assists so far this season. He’s made several game-saving defensive plays in victories and many think this is the year he nudges past Kawhi Leonard as the NBA Defensive Player of the Year. This is the 26-year-old’s second All-Star selection.
The Warriors became the eighth NBA team ever to have four All-Stars on one team. The last time the Warriors acomplished this feat, their quartet of players included Jim King, Rudy LaRusso, Clyde Lee and Nate Thurmond back in 1968.
The Western Conference topped the Eastern Conference 196-173 last season in Toronto. OKC point guard Russell Westbrook was named the games MVP with 31 points and 8 rebounds.
