Just a year and a half after throwing a no-hitter as a rookie starting pitcher, Chris Heston’s days as a Giant may soon becoming to an end.
The Giants are shopping the 28-year-old right-hander who pitched just five innings in 2016, according to multiple reports on Wednesday morning.

After a stellar rookie campaign in 2015 where Heston posted a 3.95 ERA in 31 starts, an oblique injury put Heston on the shelf for nearly all of last season. The Giants already have their rotation set for next season, with Matt Cain and youngster Ty Blach likely battling for the fifth spot in the rotation. With the signing of Mark Melancon on Monday, the Giants must add the closer to the 40-man roster this week and are currently out of spots.
Heston was moved to the bullpen last season but was quickly sent down to Sacramento after allowing six runs in five innings.
Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area is reporting that a couple of teams have reached out to see if Heston is a good fit.
