Though they haven’t made any additions to the roster so far this offseason, the Giants have been fairly active when it comes to their coaching staff.
That trend continued on Thursday, with Scott Miller of Turner Sports reporting the club’s acquisition of former All-Star pitcher Bob Tewksbury, who will act as the Giants’ mental performance coach.

Tewksbury was the sports psychology coach for the Boston Red Sox since 2004, after earning a Master’s Degree in psychology from Boston University. According to a story by the Boston Globe, numerous players in the Red Sox system have praised Tewksbury, saying he helped them overcome personal adversity and spoke highly of his ability to relate to players.
Tewksbury pitched for six different teams during his professional career that spanned from 1986-1998, making a lone All-Star appearance in 1992.
