Well, that was a brief stay in Santa Cruz.
The Warriors have activated Damian Jones from the D-League and promoted him to the active roster after just two games. He averaged 3.0 points per game, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in what will hopefully be his last stay ever in Santa Cruz.
The first-round pick out of Vanderbilt has a chance to be one of the more athletic young big men in the game and proved this with two monster blocks (seen below).
Side note: The Warriors are actually second in the NBA in blocks per game (6.4). The addition of Kevin Durant’s defense has been an underrated aspect thus far. Durant’s 27 blocks are already 17 more than Harrison Barnes had in all of 2015-16.
Okay, back to Jones. We dare you to watch this and not be excited for him to receive minutes over Anderson Varejao and James Michael McAdoo. He seems fully recovered from a torn pectoral muscle he suffered shortly before the NBA Draft.
The Warriors face the Atlanta Hawks Monday night at Oracle Arena.
