49ers safety Eric Reid confirmed he will be out for the remainder of the 2016 season after sustaining a torn right biceps in Sunday’s loss to New England, via Twitter on Monday.

An MRI on Monday confirmed that Reid tore his right biceps, something that will require season ending surgery.
Reid, a four year veteran, is currently second on the team with 62 tackles and also has an interception and forced fumble this season. Expect backup free safety Marcus Cromartie to see increased reps with Reid on the shelf.
