A few months ago when his national anthem protest began, Colin Kaepernick said he would be donating $1 million of his salary to charitable endeavors that fight racial injustice across the United States.
Friday, he announced eight different organizations who have already been benefitted by his funds.
Kaepernick has donated $25,000 each to the following causes: Silicon Valley De-Bug (San Jose, Calif.), Causa Justa/Just Cause (San Jose, Calif.), Urban Underground (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Mothers Against Police Brutality (Dallas, Texas) Black Youth Project (Chicago, Ill.), Gathering for Justice/Justice League (New York, N.Y.), Communities United for Police Reform (New York, N.Y.) and I Will Not Die Young (Milwaukee, Wis.).
Kaepernick’s contract gave him $61 million guaranteed when he signed it in in 2014.
