Oakland A’s co-owner and managing partner Lew Wolff is stepping down from those roles, and selling most of his stake in the club to the team’s other owners according to a report by the San Francisco Chronicle.
An official announcement is expected to be made by the club later today. Majority owner John Fisher will take over as managing partner.
Other changes include former team president Michael Crowley moving to a senior advisor position, with San Jose Earthquakes president Dave Kaval taking over as the A’s team president.
Wolff served as a managing partner for 11 years, after purchasing the team with Fisher in 2005 for $180 million. Wolff will become the A’s chairman emeritus.
