For the third consecutive day, 49ers running back Carlos Hyde was limited in practice on Friday, ahead of Sunday’s clash against the New Orleans Saints (3-4) at Levi’s Stadium.

Hyde hasn’t seen the field since sustaining an injury to the AC joint in his right shoulder in the 49ers 46-15 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Oct. 16, and according to Matt Maiocco, did not sound optimistic about a return this weekend.

“I made a lot of improvement,” he said. “I’m back practicing, running around with the guys and stuff. Just trying to take it day-by-day.

“I don’t know how it would feel if I got hit now.”

Hyde scored six touchdowns in six games and averaged 3.9 yards-per-carry this season before being sidelined. DuJuan Harris lead the team with 11 carries for 39 yards last week in the 34-17 loss to Tampa Bay.

Outside linebacker Aaron Lynch (ankle) and impressive rookie cornerback Rashad Robinson (knee) are the other two Niners on the injury report, and both have been ruled out for Sunday.
