Ronnie Lott wants to keep the Raiders in Oakland, and he’s will to take matters into his own hand.

ABC 7’s Mike Shumann dropped an exclusive interview with Lott on Monday, where the Hall of Famer safety revealed his plans.

“It’s not only one person, it’s a number of people who have said that they want to contribute,” Lott told ABC 7. “Not just who they are, they want to contribute to dollars and cents to this effort.”

One of those interested investors? Eddie DeBartolo. Earlier last week, his daughter, Lisa, tweeted out a link to a Lowell Cohn column trashing Jed York. There have been murmurs that the 49ers former owner wants to get involved in the NFL, but not as the majority stakeholder.

Two weeks ago, Raiders owner Mark Davis released a statement calling Las Vegas the new home for his football franchise. The Nevada legislature passed a bill that would create a $750 million football stadium. The Raiders have been playing at the Oakland Coliseum since 1966. It’s still the only field that houses two teams, including the Athletics.

The Raiders are off to a 5-2 start, and many Bay Area sports fans, including the 49ers’ faithful, have come out said they’d like to see the silver and black stay in Oakland.

Lott played with the 49ers from 1980-1991 before joining the Raiders for two seasons. Arguably the greatest safety to ever play the game, Lott was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2000.
