As the NFL heads into Week 7, no story is dominating the headlines quite like Giants’ kicker Josh Brown.
Brown has admitted to physically, verbally and mentally abusing his ex-wife Molly Brown, upwards of 20 times. The Giants have stood by their kicker, and so has the NFL, up until this week.
The league put Brown on the commissioner’s exempt list after new police documents emerged on Wednesday — documents the Giants and the league claimed they hadn’t seen. Brown will still be paid on the exempt list, while players around the league continue to get fined for dancing after touchdowns.
The Giants were aware that Brown abused his wife at the Pro Bowl and did nothing about it, until now. He did not travel with the team to London for this week’s game.
The way the NFL and the Giants have handled the whole situation has stirred up a ton of emotions from players around the league, including the 49ers’ Torrey Smith.
Celebrating a TD will get you fined but being an abuser can keep the checks coming in ??

Me tweeting that could get me fined but if I slapped my wife and no one saw it on camera I would be straight smh

Gotta start taking the things that are important serious….and be consistent with the investigation and punishment

It's disrespectful to the good men in the league that handle themselves the right way…you get punished for having fun but JB can get paid

As a person who witnessed DV growing up I don't understand how a man can do it…I may think his actions are a joke but the guy needs help

I hope he gets all of the help he needs while cashing checks every week

No system is perfect but ours clearly needs some changes…..just like our country does

Smith is questionable Sunday against the Buccaneers with a back injury.
