Kevin Durant may be a four-time scoring champion, but new Warriors assistant coach Mike Brown thinks the 6′ 9″ small forward has the potential to have a significant impact on both ends of the floor this season.

Brown joined the Murph and Mac show on Friday morning and sung the praises of Durant’s rarely talked about defensive skills.

“His length is unbelievable. You get caught up in the fact that here’s a skilled parameter player who can shoot jumpers,” Brown said. “You forget about how long he is until you try to shoot a ball over him. Weather it’s a jump shot, or you’re in the post.”

“He’s had a couple of blocks for us coming from the weak side or even on the parameter when you didn’t think he was gonna be able to get there to block the shot but he ends up getting the ball because of his length. His awareness, his length, is going to be a much needed thing for us.”
