The hits just keep on coming for the San Francisco 49ers.
Carlos Hyde was spotted with a sling on his right arm at practice on Tuesday. He left Sunday’s game against the Bills with a shoulder injury. No word yet from the team on how long he will be out.
If Hyde’s sidelined for a significant period of time, he’ll join a list of productive 49ers. Jimmie Ward (quad) has been out two weeks, while NaVorro Bowman (knee) and Ray-Ray Armstrong (pectoral) are out for the season.
On the season, Hyde has 429 rushing yards on 102 carries (3.9 ypc). He also already has a career-high six touchdowns. With Bowman sidelined, Hyde is arguably the best player on the 49ers’ roster.
A stress fracture in his foot forced Hyde to miss nine games in 2015. Shaun Draughn and Mike Davis are the 26-year-old’s backups.
