SANTA CLARA — If the 24-17 loss wasn’t excruciating enough against the Cowboys, the injury news the 49ers (1-3) received will be the icing on the cake.
The team fears NaVorro Bowman tore his Achilles, according to Ian Rapoport.
The initial fear for #49ers LB NaVorro Bowman is that he tore his Achilles, a source said. He'll have an MRI tomorrow. Would be devastating.

Bowman missed the entire 2014 season after tearing his ACL/MCL against Seattle in the 2013 NFC Championship game. Bowman led the league with 154 tackles in his first season back in 2015.
This will be a devastating loss for the 49ers’ defense. Already having trouble stopping the run, Bowman’s absence in the middle will be irreplaceable. Ray-Ray Armstrong tore his pectoral muscle and is also out for the season.
The 28-year-old Bowman signed a lucrative contract extension at the beginning of training camp.
