The San Francisco Giants (72-62) lost their second straight one-run game to the Chicago Cubs (87-47) Friday afternoon, managing only three hits in a 2-1 loss at Wrigley Field.

Jon Lester (15-4, 2.61 ERA) was dominant for Chicago, allowing only one run and three hits while pitching a complete game for his 15th win of the season. Lester had a no-hitter through six innings before a Hunter Pence solo home run over the left field wall gave the Giants their only run of the afternoon. Before Pence’s homer, the Giants had gone 40 at bats without a hit. The Giants have six hits in two games at Wrigley.

San Francisco’s Albert Suarez (3-3, 4.29 ERA) lasted five innings and gave up two earned runs in a spot-start for the injured Matt Cain.

David Ross and Javier Baez each provided an RBI for Chicago in the bottom of the 3rd inning.

The Giants and Cubs will complete their three game series tomorrow in a battle of the team’s respective aces: Madison Bumgarner (13-8, 2.49 ERA) vs. Jake Arrieta (16-5, 2.84 ERA) at 11:20 a.m. PT.
