The promising display Thad Lewis put on Sunday against the Houston Texans will be his only performance of the 2016 season.

Lewis went 12-for-21 for 97 yards on Sunday and moved the football in Chip Kelly’s offense. The 49ers’ head coach brought Lewis over from Philadelphia.
The 28-year-old Lewis has also spent time with the Rams, Browns, Bills, and Texans. It’s likely that the team will put him on injured reserve so he can stay around the facility and rehab — and also participate in the quarterback’s meeting room.
Rookie quarterback Jeff Driskel now seems like a lock to make the team. The mobile quarterback went 4-for-12 against the Texans for 20 yards passing, but did rush for 61 yards on five carries.
