Former Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum has accepted a Triple-A assignment after being designated for assignment Saturday. Lincecum struggled in nine outings with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, posting a 2-6 record and a 9.16 ERA.

The right-hander put together an impressive first outing with the Angels, giving up only one run through six innings, but soon began to struggle, completing less than five innings in five of his nine starts.
The Angels signed Lincecum in mid-June after he finished rehabbing a hip injury. The two-time Cy Young winner has failed to return to top form since 2011 and will continue to work through his struggles in Triple-A Salt Lake.
Lincecum, 32, went 108-83 with a 3.61 ERA and 1,704 strikeouts in 1,643.12 innings with the Giants, who drafted him with the 10th overall pick in 2006, over nine seasons.
