Andrew Bogut takes to Twitter to rip Rio’s Olympic Village

#SochiProblems was a popular trending topic during the 2012 Winter Olympics in Russia as athletes and tourists discovered problem after problem in the living environments and urban preparations.

Based on the recent reactions from Olympic delegations as competing nations begin to arrive and get settled in the Olympic Village, Rio may be even worse.

Ex-Warrior Andrew Bogut is the latest to take to Twitter to unleash a torrent of sarcastic criticism aimed at the recently constructed Olympic Village and its host of problems, which reportedly include loose wiring, broken toilets and pipes, and unclean water.

It all started with this baffling sign targeting people who might not know to pee IN the urinal instead of all over the floor around it:

The sign clearly inspired Bogut’s dry wit, leading him to use the hashtag #IOCLuxuryLodging in his subsequent tweets.

When images of the slender single beds that the athletes will be sleeping in surfaced, Bogut had this response to an incredulous Twitter follower who wondered how an athlete as big as Bogut is expected to fit in such a tiny bed.

While Bogut has taken a light-hearted approach to the issues in Rio, complaints surrounding the Olympic Village have arisen from nearly every delegation to arrive so far, including Argentina, Belgium, Australia, and more. The International Olympic Committee is supposedly working around the clock to remedy the situation before the Opening Ceremony on Friday.

In case they don’t succeed, let’s hope this year’s Olympians are indeed as finely-tuned as Bogut claims.
