The Giants have activated their latest trade acquisition, Eduardo Nuñez, ahead of Friday’s game against the Washington Nationals. Nuñez, who will wear No. 10, will take the roster spot of Jarrett Parker, who was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento.
Nuñez, 29, was slashing .296/.325/.439 with 12 home runs, 49 runs, 47 RBI and an American League-leading 27 steals in 91 games with the Twins before getting sent to San Francisco in exchange for left-handed pitching prospect Adalberto Mejia on Thursday.
Parker has played 47 games with the big league club this season and owns a .248 average with five home runs and 11 RBI.
