Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports is reporting the Giants have expressed interest in ex-Dodger Alex Guerrero. He has not played in 2016 and was released by the Dodgers on June 8 while rehabbing a knee injury.

He moved back and forth between the outfield and third base for Los Angeles and hit .224 in two seasons with 11 home runs and 36 RBI. At the time of his release, the Dodgers still owed Guerrero over three million dollars.

Back in 2014, the two were teammates in the Dodgers’ farm system and got into an altercation in the dugout during a game.

In the conflict, Olivo bit off part of Guerrero’s ear, requiring a hospital visit and plastic surgery. At the time of the fight, no charges were filed, but Heyman is reporting Guerrero is currently suing Olivo, which would make for a tense clubhouse dynamic if the Giants decide to make this move.
