The Giants have activated Joe Panik from the disabled list, confirming what Bobby Evans said on KNBR 680 Thursday morning. In order to clear a roster spot, Grant Green was designated for assignment.

Panik went 3-for-13 in four rehab games with Triple-A Sacramento after recovering from concussion-like symptoms that arose after the second baseman was hit in the head by a pitch in Tampa Bay in late June. Panik owns a .256 batting average, seven home runs and 36 RBI this season.
