Despite video showing Pence grab at his right leg after reaching first base, Giants general manager Bobby Evans told beat reporter Chris Haft that the right fielder “seems OK” and didn’t appear to re-aggravate the injury.
“Just didn’t want to push him after he was HBP. Maybe felt scar tissue if anything during three innings he played. Felt good after he came out,” Evans texted Haft.
Pence is working his way back to the Giants following surgery to repair a torn hamstring. He was the Giants’ home run and RBI leader at the time of the injury on June 1.
