The Giants will send a fourth player to the All-Star Game in San Diego on Tuesday as first baseman Brandon Belt beat out four other National League players to win the ‘Final Vote.’
Belt topped Starling Marte, Trevor Story, Jake Lamb and Ryan Braun to earn his first career trip to the All-Star Game.
As of Thursday afternoon, Marte had a slight advantage over Belt in the voting, but the Giants led a social media campaign that put their man over the top as he finished with 10.4 million votes.
Belt is hitting .300 with 10 home runs, 46 RBI and 27 doubles, which leads the league.
