League sources say Dallas understands Barnes will likely only be available to them if the Warriors land Kevin Durant but want to try anyway.

Barnes was the seventh overall pick in 2012 but has had an up-and-down start to his NBA career with the Warriors. He’s shown immense potential, but struggled in the Golden State’s seven-game NBA Finals loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Warriors met with Kevin Durant, who would replace Barnes in their starting lineup, on Friday. They will reportedly match any offer sheet Barnes gets, but a deal with Durant changes everything.
Barnes, 24, has career averages of 10.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists across four NBA seasons.
