Monte Poole of CSN Bay Area is reporting the Warriors are growing tired of Andrew Bogut, so much so, that sources tell him the team prefers Festus Ezeli over the Australian moving forward.
From Poole:
The Warriors, should they win the race to KD, will have to shed salary and several sources indicate they’d like to move Bogut as much if not more than anyone else.
Bogut is due $16.6 million in the final year of his contract, while Ezeli will hit the market as a restricted free agent on Thursday. It’s unclear if he will command more than Bogut’s cap figure.
Bogut averaged 4.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 16.6 minutes of play during the postseason. When he played well, in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals and Game 1 of the NBA Finals, the Warriors won handedly.
Ezeli only saw the court on average of 7.8 minutes in the postseason, totaling 4.0 points per game, 2.7 rebounds and .3 blocks.
