Why he makes sense for the Warriors:
Parsons fits, and if you subbed him out for Harrison Barnes, the Warriors might’ve won back-to-back titles. He’s smooth with the basketball and he can score in flurries. He’s a serviceable wing defender with length to guard forwards and quickness to mark guards. He’s also much more of a role player than a superstar, and could flourish with a strong supporting cast.
Why he doesn’t make sense for the Warriors:
Because of the salary cap increases, he would be the highest-paid player on the Warriors, a title that will be a heavy burden. Parsons will be expected to be the difference maker from day one, and like Kevin Love dealt with in Cleveland, he will be deemed the scapegoat if Golden State fails to win another title. There’s also heavy injury concerns. Parsons is coming off of “minor microfracture” surgery.
