In an article by Cleveland.com’s Chris Haynes, the Cavaliers privately aired concerns that the Golden State Warriors get preferential treatment from the NBA.
Cleveland players took an issue with Draymond Green not being suspended for his kick to Steven Adams’ midsection. They also were mystified that Pistons and Hawks players weren’t suspended when they took vicious shots against LeBron James earlier in the playoffs.
Per Haynes:
“If Steph was elbowed and hip-checked into the stands, that player probably would have been kicked out for the rest of the playoffs,” one enraged Cavalier player who shall remain nameless told me.
Players around the league view Curry as the untouchable Golden Boy and the Warriors as the darlings of the association. The chatter among players is that they tend to get away with things other teams can’t.
Haynes has broken news all throughout the season and has earned the trust of the Cavs players. These reports shouldn’t be taken lightly.
