Evan Longoria’s 3-run home run in the fifth inning of Tuesday’s game vs. the Padres nearly left the stadium. The Giants third baseman teed off on a high fastball from starting pitcher Matt Strahm, knocking it off the top of the Western Metal Supply Co. building in left field, giving the Giants a 6-1 lead.
It was Longoria’s second homer of the night. The first came in the second inning and was a solo blast into the second deck in left-center.

The homers are Longoria’s ninth and tenth of the season. He now has three in the last two games.
