The San Francisco Giants have finally found Hensley Meulens’ replacement.
After Game 7 of the World Series concludes, Houston Astros’ assistant hitting coach Alonzo Powell is expected to become the Giants’ new hitting coach according to Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston.
Astros are going to lose another coach besides Alex Cora after tonight. Alonzo Powell, asst. hitting coach, is the new Giants hitting coach.

Powell was originally drafted by the Giants in 1983 and made his Major League debut with the Montreal Expos in 1987. A native of San Francisco, Powell attended Lincoln High School.
The Giants announced that Meulens would swap roles and become the team’s bench coach, while Ron Wotus, the Giants’ former bench coach, would serve as the team’s third base coach in 2018.
Powell has worked in various capacities for Major League teams, coaching for the Seattle Mariners from 2010-2011, the San Diego Padres from 2012-2014 and the Astros since the start of the 2015 season.
