San Francisco Giants minor league pitchers Tyler Rogers and Chris Stratton have been named to the East team of the Fall Stars game roster, the Arizona Fall League’s equivalent to the Futures Game to be played on Monday evening.
Rogers, 25, was dominant for the Giants Double-A affiliate Richmond Flying Squirrels in 2016, posting a 0.77 ERA in 35 relief appearances. Rogers struggled, however, after receiving the call-up to Triple-A on July 1st, posting a 6.10 ERA in 24 appearances for the Sacramento Rivercats. The 6′ 5″ right-hander out of Austin Peay was drafted by San Francisco in the 10th round of the 2013 Draft.
Stratton, 26, along with Ty Blach, was one of the best starting pitchers for Sacramento this season, going 12-6 with a 3.87 ERA in 20 starts for the club. Stratton also made seven appearances for the big league club during a brief call up in the Month of June, posting a 3.60 ERA as a reliever. Stratton was the Giants first round pick in the 2012 draft out of Mississippi State. He is expected to get an extended call-up soon.
Stratton is considered the Giants 26th best prospect by Baseball America, while Rogers remains unranked.
Rogers has thrown five scoreless innings in five appearances in the Arizona Fall League, while Stratton has gone 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA in three starts.
Stratton will make the start for the East squad.
The game starts at 5 PM PT and can be watched on MLB Network.
