Andrew Bogut will have a friend joining him in Dallas.
The Mavericks have agreed to a four-year $94 million deal with Harrison Barnes, according to ESPN.
In four seasons in Golden State, Barnes averaged 10.1 points per game, 4.6 rebounds and shot 44.6 percent from the field. Unfortunately for Barnes, he’ll likely be remembered most for his 2016 NBA Finals meltdown, where he shot a combined 5/32 in Games 5, 6, and 7. It ultimately decided his fate with the Warriors.
The unbelievable part of this? Kevin Durant will make $27 million per season with the Warriors; Barnes will make $23.5 million a year for the Mavericks.
The No. 7 overall pick from the 2012 draft never developed into the star player the Warriors had hoped for. Upgrading to Durant from Barnes is like trading in a Prius for a Ferrari.
